Jack Smith (b. 1989, London, UK) is an entrepreneur passionate about helping others understand technology.
Recognised as RealWorld Enterprising Student of the Year (2010), Jack has been passionate about helping others with technology from a young age. From helping his Grandad understand email, to setting up his neighbour's router; Jack has witnessed firsthand the frustrations people go through trying to use computers. Jack’s entrepreneurial pursuits have premoninently focused on this passion.
As Managing Director of Mediaroots, Jack oversaw the production and distribution of training DVDs teaching users how to use a variety of software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver.
Later Jack went on to co-found Vungle; a company focused on helping users learn and discover new apps through video.
Having previously worked as a web designer from the age of 13, Jack went on to start a video-game hardware company aged 15. Whilst at University, Jack founded Ideabox, an undergraduate business idea competition at King’s College London, encouraging undergraduate students to consider setting up their own business.
A confident public speaker, Jack has spoken to school students aged 14-18 on a number of occasions to dispel the myths surrounding going to university.
